Entries are open for the 2016 Farafina Trust Creative Writing Workshop to be held in Lagos, Nigeria from the 21st of June to the 1st of July 2016.
The workshop is organized and led by award-winning writer and creative director of Farafina Trust, Chimamanda Adichie and will be taught alongside Caine Prize-winning writer, Wainana Binyavanga, Aslak Sira Myhre among others. Only entrants who apply and are accepted will be eligible to participate.
To apply, entrants are to send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject of the email as ‘Workshop Application’, while the body of the mail should contain the applicant’s name, address, a few sentences about themselves, and a writing sample of between 200 and 800 words which could either be a work of fiction or non-fiction. All of which are required to be pasted or written in the body of the email and not attached.
The deadline for submissions is May 20th, 2016 and successful applicants will be notified by June 10th, 2016. Accommodation will be provided for all successful applicants for the ten-day duration of the workshop.
A literary evening of readings which will be open to the public will hold at the end of the workshop on the 1st of July, 2016. The workshop aims to improve the craft of writers and to encourage both published and unpublished writers by bringing different perspectives to the art of storytelling.
