American rapper, 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, was arrested on Saturday night for his use of swear words during a performance in the Caribbean at the St. Kitts Music Festival.

The “In da Club” rapper found himself ‘in da courthouse’ after he was arrested for using “indecent language,” which is prohibited by law at the concert.

The official St. Kitts tourism site hints at modest cultural norms: “Nudity is not permitted at any beach. Swimwear or scant clothing should never be worn in towns or villages.”

While performing on Saturday night, the 40-year-old rapper who headlined the St. Kitts Music Festival sang the word “motherf*****” as he performed “P.I.M.P”, according to TMZ.

He went on to sing the word several times in front of the 40,000 concertgoers despite the fact that he had been earlier warned not to use profanity.

After the concert, he was formally arrested and charged for the offense of “making use of indecent language” during his performance, according to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.

He appeared in court Sunday morning where he paid a fine to settle the case, and returned to the U.S. later that day.

In 1999, fellow American rapper, DMX was also arrested for using swear words in public. DMX’s case happened in Trinidad. He was jailed and fined $150.
