Nigeria’s Super Eagles vice-captain, Ahmed Musa, debuted for his new club Leicester City on Tuesday in a 2 – 1 pre-season win over Oxford United at the latter’s Kassam Stadium.
Musa who signed for the English Premier League champions just over two weeks ago came on as a second half substitute in the 61th minute and gave a good account of himself.
Though he did not grab a goal or an assist as the two goals were scored by Demarai Gray and Jeff Schlupp, he showed glimpses of why manager, Claudio Ranieri, made him Leicester’s record signing.
Only seven minutes after coming on, Musa tested Oxford’s goalkeeper with a power drive from 25 yards.
Leicester had to come from a goal down to ensure victory in a match that saw two other new signings – Luis Hernandez and Ron-Robert Zieler make their debut.
