Chinese smartphone giant, Xiaomi that has already started giving Apple iPhone a run for its money is now set to unveil a notebook – Xiaomi Mi Notebook – that will compete with Apple MacBook series.
When it comes to Premium Notebooks, MacBook is #1 in the notebook list, but things may likely change, as Xiaomi will be entering in Premium Notebook segment giving competition to Apple MacBook.
It is extremely possibly for Xiaomi’s Notebook to knock off Apple MacBook series as #1 giving their track record.
According to a Chinese tech website, in just six years, Xiaomi has come from nowhere to become one of China’s biggest smartphone manufacturers, and one of the most valuable startups in the world.
As at 2015, the company was worth 45 billion dollars, according to Bloomberg.
The company’s business model includes selling cheap Android devices with impressive specs in developing countries. It also sells fitness trackers and a number of other products.
While Xiaomi CEO didn’t comment on the coming Mi Notebook, it can be seen from leaked images of the device that the notebook is similar to Apple’s MacBook with all aluminum design and Mi logo in the place of Apple logo.
Xiaomi’s Notebook is expected to come with three variants: 12.5-inches, 13.3-inches, and a 15.6-inch model.
The Notebook will support Intel i5 5th generation with Intel HD graphics or Nvidia Graphics in Options.
It is also expected that the makers may use AMD high-end GPU also. It will be available in 4, 8, 16 GB Ram model and Backlit Keyboard is expected.
As reports suggest, Xiaomi Notebook is expected to launch this summer or in Q4 of 2016.
It remains a rumour as the company hasn’t officially confirmed yet.
