Alexis Sanchez’ imminent exit from Arsenal is by far the most discussed transfer since the January window opened.
Gradually we’ve seen Manchester United emerge joint favourite alongside Manchester City to sign the Chilean for a knockdown fee as he is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium in the summer.
Meanwhile, according to journalist, Kike Marin, this morning, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has named the only condition on which he would let Sanchez join Man United.
The French tactician, according to Marin, has set his sights on United’s French attacker, Anthony Martial, and hopes he could force United to include him as part of a potential deal that would send Sanchez to Old Trafford.
Though Martial, 22, has started just 11 of the Red Devils’ 22 Premier League fixtures to this point in the campaign, he has nonetheless proven absolutely crucial to the cause of the Manchester giants, racking up 7 goals and 3 assists in the league alone.
Add this to the fact that Martial is 7 years younger than Sanchez and has an extra 12 months remaining on his current contract when compared to the Arsenal man, and it quickly becomes clear that any deal to take Martial to North London would obviously require the Gunners to fork out a substantial sum on top of their Chilean star.
In addition, Kike Marin ensures that Jose Mourinho is firmly against the idea of parting ways with Martial.
