Today, Thursday marks the 11th birthday of the first installment in DC’s Batman movies, Batman Begins. It was released in the UK on the 16th of June 2005 to wide fanfare and celebration.
The movie at the time of released had a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 85%, Metacritic rating of 75% and 8.3/10 from IMDb.
All these proved not to be exaggerations as it eventually grossed 373 million dollars worldwide.
It also ushered in the golden age of the Batman franchise and paved the way for Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises which both grossed over a billion dollars.
What can we say? Good work Christopher Nolan and Happy Birthday Batman.
