Former FIFA President Joseph Blatter’s appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) has been fixed for August 25, a report said on Friday.
It said that Blatter had gone to CAS in Lausanne, Switzerland, following a six-year football ban by FIFA’s ethics committee.
The report added that Blatter and former UEFA President Michel Platini were banned in connection with a disloyal payment of some 2 million dollars.
It added that Platini received money from Blatter in 2011 for FIFA work done as a FIFA presidential adviser a decade earlier, it noted.
Platini also took his case to CAS, which in May reduced his ban from six years to four years.
He then announced he was stepping down as UEFA president.
Meanwhile the original FIFA ethics committee ban for Platini and Blatter was eight years but has been reduced by two years.
