Alex Sandro looks set to remain at Juventus after AC Milan completed a deal for Leonardo Bonucci.

Milan are determined to become a major force in world football again and have already made eight signings this summer, including the surprise transfer of Bonucci from Juventus.

That acquisition looks set to have ended Chelsea’s hopes of buying left back Sandro as Juve are determined not to lose another key member of their backline.

Chelsea have been pursuing Sandro for several weeks, but the Brazil international appears certain to stay and sign the new contract that was offered a month ago.

Chelsea were willing to spend a club record £61million on Sandro and double his wages to over £100,000-a-week.

And Milan’s transfer business is set to further disrupt Chelsea’s plans after they trumped the Premier League champions’ offer to Alvaro Morata.
