Premier League leaders, Chelsea, on Sunday played out a 1 – 1 draw at Burnley in a match that could have seen them extend their lead at the top of the league to 12 points.
As expected, Chelsea’s manager, Antonio Conte, was left disappointed with the result his team came away with at Turf Moor, the Premier League’s fourth most difficult stadium to play this season.
Only Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal have garnered more points at home than Burnley this season.
Though Conte was disappointed with the result, he wasn’t disappointed with his team’s performance as they showed incredible desire to win, pushing Burnley back into their half for most part of the second half.
Conte said Chelsea “tried to play football and create chances, and the mentality was good.
“We put a lot of energy into the game which is one of the reasons to be disappointed with only a point.
“Burnley made it difficult with long balls, but I have total respect for a team playing that way.”
Conte added that it is not yet over as there are still 13 games left this season.
