Wikki Tourists of Bauchi slumped to a 2 – 0 defeat against Royal Sierra Leonean Armed Forces, RSLAF in the first leg of their CAF Confederation cup preliminary round tie in Freetown, Sierra Leone on Sunday.
It was the Giant Elephants’ second stint in Continental competition and the loss now put them in a critical situation before the return leg next weekend.
Wikki now hope to overturn the two-goal deficit when they host the Sierra Leoneans at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi next Sunday.
Nigeria’s other representatives in the competition, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, beat Al- Masry of Egypt 1 – 0 in their clash in Nnewi also on Sunday.
Cameroonian import, Tamen Medrano netted the winner in the 88th minute firing past Al Masry’s Abdelhalim after he was set up by substitute Isaac Loute.
The big spenders now walk a tight rope as they will travel to Egypt next weekend for the return fixtures.
