25 April 2016
In celebration of Earth day, a tree was planted at the UN garden in New York.
The first earth day was celebrated in 1970. This movement was created to give voice to emerging consciousness, channelling human energy toward environmental issues. It is held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It is globally coordinated yearly by the Earth day Network.
On Earth day 2016, the Paris Agreement was signed by the United States, China and other countries. The signing satisfies a key requirement for the entry into force of the historic draft climate protection treaty adopted by consensus of the 195 nations present at the united Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris. Individuals can also sign and be a part of it here: http://action.earthday.net/p/dia/action3/common/public/?action_KEY=18560
