Chelsea’s bid to sign a cover for Nigeria’s Victor Moses who impressed in his unfamiliar wing-back role last season has seen them linked with Brazilian right-back, Danilo, and is now believed to be in advanced talks with Real Madrid for the defender.
Danilo started 17 times in La Liga for Champions Madrid last season, but Dani Carvajal was preferred for most big games including the Champions League final.
Chelsea showed interest in another Brazilian right-back, Dani Alves, earlier in the summer and have also been pursuing Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
Juve are also in for Danilo after losing Alves to Paris Saint-Germain, and the 25-year-old is likely to cost around £28m.
Chelsea last week made £34m defender Antonio Rudiger their first major signing of the summer, while a deal for Monaco midfielder, Tiemoue Bakayoko is close.
The Blues have also been offered Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for £70m.
