The home team pulled one back in the 42nd when the inform Josh King fired a precise shot into the roof of the net from outside the area. Marcos Alonso who was named Man of The Match restored Chelsea’s lead with a sublime freekick in the 72nd minute after Costa was roughly brought down on the edge of the box.
Speaking after the match, Antonio Conte said with seven games left for Chelsea this season, “it is too early to smell victory in the league. There are hard games to come and they must be faced.”
Suggesting what needs to be done to finish with the title, Conte said “Chelsea must show the same desire as Tottenham, who showed last season they can challenge to the end.”
