‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ is the second book in the Harry Potter series, written by award winning British author, J. K. Rowling.

‘Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets’ was first released in the UK on July 2, 1998. This makes today its 18th birthday.

The book was preceded by in the Harry Potter series by ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ and followed by ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’.

On its release 18 years ago, the book won high praises and awards from young readers and the book industry at large.

Despite the widespread praises, critics held their thoughts as well. Critics thought the story was perhaps too frightening for young children who it was meant for.

Critics’ criticisms amounted to nothing as the book became a colossal success and spawned a movie. Even adults, that it wasn’t meant for accepted it as though it was meant for them.

Today, July 2 2016,  ‘Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets’ attains adulthood in the UK.

Let’s celebrate with it!!!
