“On Monday of Last Week”, a short story written by award winning Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, is soon to be adapted into a movie.

The story is from The Thing Around Your Neck, a collection of short stories published in 2009.

It follows the story of Kamara, a Nigerian immigrant in America. While working as a nanny to an interracial couple, Kamara develops a surreal attraction to Tracy, the aloof, artist mother.

The story was originally published in the renowned literary magazine, Granta.

Ghanaian-American filmmaker, Akosua Adoma Owusu was granted exclusive film rights and will direct and produce the picture, while Nigerian actress Chinasa Ogubagu will star as Kamara.
