Remember the legendary Christmas song, ‘All I want for Christmas is You’? Well, its about to become a movie.

We don’t want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing we need… and Mariah Carey is finally giving it to her fans.

Twenty-three years after her festive classic ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ burrowed its way into fans’ brains and hearts with its infectious glee, the all-time classic song is becoming a movie.

And now Mariah has given fans a sneak peek of the film’s lead character, who’s called – unsurprisingly – Mariah.

“Meet Little Mariah! It was a dream come true helping to create this character in my upcoming animated movie,” she told followers, adding: “Stay tuned… I’ve got a surprise coming your way soon!”

The animated movie – titled Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You, of course – will be arriving on DVD just in time to fill your holiday season with the joy only the Elusive Chanteuse can muster.

The singer has produced and narrates the adorable cartoon story about a young Mariah’s dream to find a puppy under her Christmas tree.

Here’s how Universal Pictures describes the movie: “When young Mariah (Santa Hunters’ Breanna Yde) sees a darling little puppy named Princess at the pet store, she suddenly knows exactly what she wants for Christmas. But before her Christmas wish can come true, she must prove that she can pet-sit Jack, a scraggly rascal of a dog; in fact, the worst dog in the county!

“Naughty Jack turns Mariah and her family’s Christmas preparations upside down in hilarious ways. Will Jack dash Mariah’s hopes for her dream puppy? Or will Christmas reveal how love works in surprising and mysterious ways?”

Mariah has been working on a Christmas movie for ages, and she sounds excited to be bringing ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ back to life in this cute animated format.

“I am thrilled to be able to bring the story of the song to new generations of families,” she beamed.

Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You will feature some very familiar voices besides the singer herself – including Henry Winkler (Happy Days), Lacey Chabert (Mean Girls) and Keiko Agena (Gilmore Girls).
