A 30-year-old self-ordained pastor, Adewumi Alade and his brother, Adewole, 25, will spend six months each behind bars for job scam.
They were found guilty of duping five persons of the sum of N1 million between November 2014 and June 2015 in Ado-Ekiti, while claiming that they had capacity to get them jobs.
An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate presided over Mr Adesoji Adegboye, who convicted the duo on Tuesday, did not give an option of fine.
Adegboye, while reviewing the case said the prosecutor, Police Sergeant Leranmo Caleb, called five witnesses, while the defence counsel, Mr Busuyi Ayeni, called the convicts as witnesses.
He said the evidence of the convicts were not credible, adding that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.
Adegboye said he was lenient on the convicts because of the plea of their counsel.
The convicts were charged with conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretence and defrauding their victims by claiming that their brother was an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, facilitating recruitment into the agency.
