Johnny Depp could now be quizzed by cops over allegations of domestic violence after his wife, Amber Heard filed a statement with the Los Angeles Police Department, LAPD.
The actress went to the police to file a statement after first declining to give an initial statement to the LAPD following the alleged attack on her by Johnny Depp at their home on Saturday night that left her with a bruised face.
In a damning statement, her legal team said Heard was “forced” by Depp’s team to give a statement after “vicious false and malicious allegations” were spread to cast doubt on her account of events and miscast her as the “villain” rather than the victim.
Heard’s legal team, Samantha F. Spector and Joseph P. Koenig, said in the statement: “As the result of Amber’s decision to decline giving an initial statement to the LAPD, her silence has been used against her by Johnny’s team. Amber did not provide a statement to the LAPD in an attempt to protect her privacy and Johnny’s career.
“Johnny’s team has forced Amber to give a statement to the LAPD to set the record straight as to the true facts, as she cannot continue to leave herself open to the vicious false and malicious allegations that have infected the media. Amber has suffered through years of physical and psychological abuse at the hands of Johnny.”
