Danny Drinkwater Thursday signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge with just hours to spare before the summer transfer window closed.

With the deal, the England international becomes Leicester City’s club-record sale, surpassing the £32m the Foxes received from Chelsea for N’Golo Kante last year.

The London club posted pictures of Drinkwater holding a home shirt and shaking hands with technical director Michael Emenalo on their Twitter account.

Manager Antonio Conte had a busy deadline day, with Davide Zappacosta also joining from Torino as Chelsea secured their fifth and sixth signings of the summer.
