The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday assured aspirants at its Edo State gubernatorial primary of a level playing field.
Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State, Leader of the National Delegation of the party to the primary, gave the assurance in Benin ahead of governorship primary.
He told Gov. Adams Oshiomhole that members of the delegation would conduct transparent, credible, free and fair primary by adhering strictly to the party guidelines.
The leader said that this was necessary to restore confidence of party members and those of the aspirants.
According to him, a candidate who emerges from transparent primary ahead of the September 10 governorship election in the state will get the support of members of the party at the state and at the national level.
He said that members of the delegation would meet with delegates and aspirants before the primary to intimate them once again of the need to play by the rules.
Welcoming the delegation, Oshiomole said: “we have put every logistics in place to ensure that the party conducts a credible, free and fair primaries tomorrow.’’
