The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has released the Ekiti state Finance commissioner, Toyin Ojo and Accountant-General, Omobola Owolabi.
EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren confirmed this on Wednesday.
EFCC had arrested Ojo and Owolabi over alleged misappropriation of the Paris Club refund.
It said they were arrested following their refusal to honour the commission’s invitation.
Governor Ayodele Fayose’s special assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, also confirmed their release.
He said, “They were released in Abuja after they had scrambled fruitlessly for non-existent evidences with which to prosecute them.
“If they had anything against the Ekiti government officials, I’m sure they would have made a show of the entire matter in the courts.”
