Former Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike, was the toast in Fenerbahce’s 5 – 1 away victory over Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super League on Monday.
Emenike scored Ferne’s third goal and provided two assists to inspire the Turkish club to their first win in the super league this season.
Brazilian, Josef De Souza, opened the scoring for Fernerbahce in the 11th minute off an assist from Emenike while Turkish international, Ozan Tufan, increased the tally to 2 – 0 in the 20th minute before Emenike made it three on the stroke of half time.
Two more second half goals from Fernabahce’s duo of Moussa Sow and Ismail Köybasi canceled out Kasimpasa’ goal from the spot by Tunay Torun in the 57th minute to ensure the Yellow Canneries got their first victory in four league games.
The win notwithstanding, the former champions are 10th on the log with 4 points, putting them 8 points behind leaders Istanbul Buyuksehir BSK who have 12 points from the same number of matches.
Nigeria International, Emem Eduok, featured for Kasimpasa as he was introduced in the 46th minute. Nigerian-born Hungary International, Kenneth Otigba, also featured for the home team.
Emenike announced his retirement from Nigeria’s national team last October. Before the retirement, he played 35 times for the Super Eagles and scored 16 goals.
