Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte missed out on setting a new Premier League record for longest winning streak, but he wasn’t going to miss out on the record for the most consecutive manager of the month award; thanks to his 13-match winning streak.
Though the 13-match winning streak wasn’t enough to snatch the longest winning streak record from Chelsea’s London neighbour, Arsenal, it was enough to land Conte the individual record in his first year in England.
Conte was presented with the award for the third time on Friday. The Italian tactician won the award for October, November and then December, having won all his matches in those months.
Though Chelsea started a difficult January with a loss at Tottenham, Conte is still hopeful to make it four in a row, but admitted it will be ‘difficult’
“It will be very difficult to win a fourth, but the most important thing is to continue to work hard,” he added.
Chelsea will be looking to rebound after the Tottenham loss when they face defending champions, Leicester City at the King Power stadium in the last match of Saturday.
