Norwegian First division side, Sogndal Fotball has announced the signing of former Nigerian Youth International, Chidiebere Nwakali on a loan deal from Premier League side, Manchester City.

Nwakali who joined City in 2015 had previously been sent on loan moves to Spain with Segunda sides, Atlético Malagueño and Girona FC and to Norway with Tippeligaen side, IK Start, where he scored three goals in 22 appearances.

Before joining Sogndal, the 20-year-old who can operate as a central midfieder and right-back was linked with four Bundesliga clubs in January, including Eintracht Frankfurt and Augsburg.

Nwakali was part of the same generation of exciting Nigerian footballers as Kelechi Iheanacho, who won the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2013.

He is expected to make his debut for Sogndal when they face Sarpsborg 08 on April 4.
