In a fire outbreak at a fuel station belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), three people reportedly lost their lives and many others critically injured. This happened along the Nnamdi Azikiwe by-pass in Kaduna state capital.
According to eye-witnesses, the fire raged on for more than three hours from 5pm on Sunday. In addition to the lives lost, 10 vehicles queuing to buy fuel at the time were destroyed.
A leakage from the tanker was reported to be the cause of the fire outbreak. Residents of the Kinkinau Government Reserved Area where the petrol station is located reported that it happened as the tanker discharged its content at the service station.
