The match that brought the biggest talk in this week’s round of Champions League matches is the game between Liverpool and Sevilla where the English side threw away a 3-goal lead in the second half.

About the match

Liverpool were on course for a comfortable win over the Spanish side. Jurgen Klopp’s men were 3 – 0 up at half-time in the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium but fell apart after the break to draw 3 – 3.

Why the match is of interest to Chelsea

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on Saturday night, and the Italian has given his take on their opponent’s dramatic night in Seville.

“I watched the game. Liverpool played a really good first half with great intensity,” he said. “But as you know very well, football is strange.

“What happened in the second half is very difficult to explain. Liverpool in the second half had opportunities to score other goals. They were also unlucky.”

Liverpool vs Chelsea

Looking ahead to Saturday’s 5.30pm kick-off, Conte added: “It’s important to prepare for the game and for us to try and play a really good game. We know very well what are the qualities of Liverpool.”

Chelsea’s Champions League outing

Chelsea were in Champions League action themselves, playing Qarabag a day after the Reds were in action. Chelsea won the match quite too comfortably with 4 – 0.
