In the early hours of today, a four-storey building, located at the popular Itoku market collaped in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
The collapsed building has been confirmed to be part of the ultra-modern shopping complex being constructed by the Ogun State government.
Though not yet confirmed, ten people were suspected to have been trapped under the rubble of the collapsed building.
Ogun State Governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun was said to have been on ground to oversee rescue exercise. Men and equipment of the Ogun state fire service were mobilized for the rescue exercise.
According to eyewitness account, the building came down around 8:30am. The cause of the collapse is yet to be ascertained.
