“Oko won l’ode” is a popular Yoruba saying literally meaning “husbands are hard to find”. The adage is also supported by the lauding of marriage in society, ostracizing unmarried women and encouraging the desperate scramble of women for the prized husband.

But Funnmi Iyanda took to Twitter recently to shut down the myth of male scarcity and assert that happiness is found from one’s self and not one’s marital status.
