Galaxy note 7 scheduled to hit the markets in September will give many contemporaries a run for their money.

Popular tech site, Cnet, has even dubbed it the sexiest large screen ever.

A lot of tech media platforms have surprisingly found common ground on the device as they all agree it is the best phone of it’s time, in design and specs.

Here’s what we know about the note 7. It will come with the latest version of the android OS, Marshmallow and would allow possible upgrade to 7.0.

It boasts an amazing 4GB Ram, a Quad HD screen and a 12 and 5 megapixel back and front cameras respectively.

Its 3,500mAh battery is endowed with new power-saving modes and quick charging.

Its 64GB storage capacity is supported by expandable storage while the entire outer body of the device is dust and water proof. Yes, you can take underwater pictures with it.

All the above listed specifications may have been seen before now on a few devices, however.

The Iris scanner is to serve as extra protection, aside the fingerprint scanner. The Iris scanner scans the eye of the owner to unlock the device. This is a feature that is yet to be implemented on any other rival device. With this, Samsung is definitely ahead of its peers.

The launch of the ‘sexy’ note 7 may prove timely and strategic for Samsung in its fierce battle for supremacy with major rival, iPhone at a time when Apple appears to be lagging behind in both design and in sales.

Apple has long held the advantage over Samsung, but could this be the year Samsung takes the crown?
