The Game of Thrones series left fans of the HBO-produced series asking ‘what next’ after the end of the series’ Season 6 mid-2016.

With the release date of the Season 7 set for mid-2017, the anxiety is building with fans waiting to see what will become of the characters they are rooting for in the fight for the Iron Throne.

The excitement and anxiety building up around the release of the Season 7 is not unrelated to the fact that the book for the series is yet to be released as has been in previous seasons.

Fans of the series who also read the book who had before now enjoyed spoilers are totally in the dark as to what will or might happen in the new season.

Less than a year to the release of the new season, most people are still in the dark regarding what will unfold.

We’ve put together some hints of what to expect from the new Season:

  • Maisie Williams who stars as Arya Stark in the series, in a series of tweets revealed: ‘Just finished reading Season 7 ‘shit gets real’. ‘I’d start preparing yourselves now’ ‘scratch that, nothing will prepare you for this’
  • Speaking to The Hollywood reporter, Jon Snow who is arguably the series’ most loved character,  said: “If there’s any sort of win or heroic moment for Jon and everyone else, I think it’s going to get very dark before it gets better.”

There you have it – coming from the series’ most strategic characters – Season 7 will be full of twists and surprises, like you’ve never before now seen in the series.

If there weren’t enough of those to last a lifetime already, the hints about the Season say a lot about how darker and grittier it will get.

I will say prepare yourselves, but Arya already said ‘nothing will prepare you for this.’

Winter is well and truly coming!!!
