The series is known for killing of major characters and it’s shock twists so fans have now accepted to expect the unexpected.

However, one thing viewers of the HBO fantasy epic have been promised and can look forward to is lots of gripping action scenes.

“There are magnificent action scenes, different from anything we’ve ever done before,” show runner David Benioff told TV Insider.

He even said there’s a “massive sea battle” that will “sail past Season 2’s Blackwater in scope.”

With Daenerys Targaryen (played by Emilia Clarke) now teamed up with siblings Yara (Gemma Whelan) and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), will there be a huge loss of life seen in an attempt to take King’s Landing?

Or will they bring the battle with the White Walkers to a more familiar territory, the sea?

Bloodshed in the sea could also be seen if Yara takes on her evil uncle Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk), a seafaring pirate who is out for revenge against her niece and nephew.

Despite wars between each other, the big one is yet to come as co-showrunner Dan Weiss said: “Everyone is facing something more dangerous to all of them than any danger they are to each other.”

Fans will also be eager to see how Jon Snow (Kit Harington) will learn the truth of his parentage.

Season six ended on a dramatic cliffhanger revealing that the former Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch was in fact the Tararygen-Stark heir and his mother was Lyanna Stark (Aisling Franciosi) and Rhaegar Targaryen was his father.

The shock twist meant the King of The North was a very stronger contender for the Iron Throne thanks to his birthright. But will Jon find out his real identity in season seven?

Game of Thrones returns to HBO on July 16.
