German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier says that Britain’s decision to leave the European Union is “truly sobering’’ and “sad.’’
“The news from Britain is truly sobering. It looks like it’s going to be sad day for Europe and for Britain,’’ Steinmeier said in Berlin.
Britain voted to leave the European Union in a Thursday’s landmark referendum.
The outcome sets Britain on an uncertain path and deals the largest setback to European efforts to forge greater unity since World War II.
