Cellulite forms as a result of toxins that gather in the fat deposits of the skin. The pockets of fat that gathers under the skin and give it a dimpled appearance is what is known as cellulite. More women (as many as 80% of women above the age of 20) are plagued with this skin condition more than men because of factors such as the nature of the male skin in difference to female skin and hormones.

Getting rid of cellulite is done by targeting means of flushing the body free from those toxins, and this can only be done by a change of lifestyle; eating healthy, being healthy and taking better care of one’s body.

The following are additional tips on how to get rid of cellulite:

– Coffee scrub

When applied topically, coffee is said to improve blood flow. After dry brushing, apply the coffee grounds on the affected area and massage into skin. Then shower normally and apply coconut oil. It is invigorating both when consumed and when applied as a rub. Add sugar and melted coconut oil to the coffee grounds and massage into skin for a few minutes before washing off. Apply two to three times a week. Works well to get rid of cellulite and also helps to exfoliate the skin.

– Wear loose clothes

Tight clothes, shapewear and even underwear can limit the proper flow of blood to prevent the toxins from staying in the fat deposits. Good circulation of blood is essential in getting rid of cellulite so try to not wear too tight fitting clothes and outfits.

– Drinking lemon juice, cayenne pepper and gelatin

A glass of lemon juice sprinkled with cayenne pepper is a good internal detoxification method that helps to get rid of cellulite from the inside. Improving elasticity and detoxification which in turn helps get rid of cellulite are both better accomplished from the inside. Taking a glass of juice with the spice is the most effective and nutritious method.
Also, consumption of gelatin has numerous health benefits including getting rid of cellulite.

– Consuming omega-3s

Consumption of omega 3-fatty acids and fat soluble vitamins over time will help reduce cellulite over time. It is also very healthy for the body.

– Moisturize naturally

Moisturize your skin instead with natural oils and creams such as olive oil, coconut oil etc.

– Balancing hormones

Hormones play a huge part in cellulite formation which is one major reason why women have it and men don’t. Learning how to balance your emotions will go a great deal to helping reduce the appearance of cellulite. Try stress relief methods, yoga, breathing exercises, and calming techniques to ensure that even when the hormones flare up as they tend to do, they are properly managed.

– Avoid smoking

If you are a smoker, stop smoking. And if you are not, don’t smoke. Cellulite is said to be more commonly found in smokers. Since cellulite is caused by a build up of toxins, smoking will only introduce more of those toxins into your system.
