Hollywood actress, Jennifer Lawrence has revealed that she plans to take a step back from acting, stating the reason as her current promotional duties surrounding Darren Aronofsky’s Mother!, and upcoming films Bad Blood, Red Sparrow and X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
“I’m taking [a break]. I don’t have anything set for two years,” the actress said on U.S. show Today, before musing that she might “start making pots.”
The announcement comes during a week that saw Lawrence reveal her thoughts on motherhood. “I would like to have kids one day,” she told The Daily Telegraph. “I see myself as a mother, but I don’t really know the layout of my future. I definitely have maternal stirrings. But everything might change.”
She’s of course referring to her relationship with Aronofsky, director of Mother! and someone she “wanted to work with” and regarded as “brilliant” for years before their union on the horror film.
Of coming to terms with the lack of privacy that fame affords the couple, Lawrence also told Today: “I was angry and resentful because I thought that I deserved the right to do what I love and do my job and then still have privacy,” she said. “It’s important to just keep a separation and know that the people who are screaming outside a premiere, they’re screaming because of a job and a character. I don’t put any stock in it.”
Though Lawrence has said that she has been enjoying “dealing with [Aronofsky] as just a human,” her press duties surrounding her new releases will mean that she is not absent from the spotlight for very long after all.
