Veteran Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, 44, has called out Nigerian comedian, Akpororo and the organisers of his comedy show, Akpororo vs Akpororo 2016, coming up on Friday, 8 July 2016, for using her name and image for promoting the event without her consent.

In the disclaimer released by Henshaw’s team, the actress made it abundantly clear that she has no connection with the comedy show holding at Eko hotel.

Below is a statement released by Kate Henshaw’s management on her behalf:

An obviously irate and irritated Kate Henshaw took to Instagram to vent her anger at this usual occurrence in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

She wrote:

“There is a thing called RESPECT in this industry. The sooner people recognise this..the better it will be for all. Do not take my smile and simplicity for stupidity! Notice of 48hrs is hereby given to the organisers to remove my name and image from all publicity associated with this event. Thank you.”

In response, Akpororo also took to Instagram to issue an apology as was requested by the actress:

“Good evening ma @k8henshaw Before anything else just want to say I’m very sorry ma for the misunderstanding, so sorry for not following up after our last conversation about my show (Akpororo vs Akpororo which is taking place at eko hotel and suites July 8th) when you were out of the country the other day, I will never disrespect you or even take you for granted for any reason, I respect you so much ma, please pardon me ma. Thanks and GOD bless you ma.”

Her name has since then been removed from all adverts and publicity materials for the event.
