Newly retired Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard has been offered the role of a club ambassador at Chelsea.
According to sources at the London club, this is in a bid to ensure Chelsea maintain a direct association with the club’s record goalscorer.
Though Lampard has mentioned his desire to take up a role at Chelsea in the past, he has yet to respond to this offer as he is taking his time to consider his options
Even though Lampard played as a midfielder, sometimes behind the striker, in the heart of the midfield with Michael Ballack/Deco or beside Essien/Mikel in front of the defence, he is Chelsea’s highest scoring player of all time.
His career at Chelsea started in 2001 when he joined from West Ham for a fee many at the time thought was too much. He went on to prove them all wrong with consistent performances in the Blue colour.
