The Mainland Book Cafe is a Lagos-based community of readers, writers, artistes and arts enthusiasts established in 2014 and dedicated to developing arts and literary appreciation.
This, it does by promoting the reading of contemporary African writing, organising literary events and creating physical and intellectual spaces for creative interactions and conversations.
In keeping with its artistic and literary vision, the Mainland Book Cafe is calling for submissions for its 2016 volume of the chapbook collective: Mashup Vol. 2, a collection of selected creative works comprising of several fiction and non-fiction titles.
The submissions are open to poetry, fiction and visual arts entries. Interested individuals can send their submissions to email@example.com. Deadline for submissions is the 20th of June 2016.
The Mainland Book Cafe also organises a monthly book club meet where members gather, chat and talk about books over drinks. Over 100 books, from over 20 meet ups, with over 50 members have been discussed. The group’s website has an online shop where interested individuals can order books and have them delivered.
