President Barack Obama delivered his farewell speech as President of the United States of America early this morning.

Speaking on different issues from his eight years as U.S. President, Obama spoke with grace and passion. But when he spoke about his wife, Michelle Obama, the outgoing First Lady, Obama was in tears.

Obama praised his lovely wife as he called her “girl of the Southside”.

“For the past 25 years, you have not only been my wife, and mother of my children, you have been my best friend,” Obama gracefully said as he fought back tears.

Obama continued about his wife, “you took on a role you didn’t ask for and you made it your own, with grace and with style and good humour.”

Now with tears freely rolling down his face, Obama said “you have made me proud and you have made the country proud.”

Obama went on to praise his children for handling the demands of the spotlight very well, adding that “of all that I’ve done in my life, I am most proud to be your daddy.”
