Tanzania’s Education Minister, Joyce Ndalichako, has explained to the country’s parliament the reason why thousands of students were ordered to leave the University of Dodoma, located in the country’s capital city, Dodoma, yesterday.

According to Ndalichako, over 7000 students were ordered to leave the University.

The minister noted that the decision to send the students home was because of a lecturers’ strike at the University which has been going on since last month.

The opposition has blamed the strike on the government, stating that it is all a result of it’s failure to pay lecturers.
