World streaming giant, Netflix, has renewed ‘Narcos’, another of its original series for two more seasons even as it rolls out the trailer for the Season 3.
The ‘Narcos’ series circles around Pablo Escobar, the legendary Colombian drug lord.
“Escobar” died in Season 2 of the series, but it did not stop Netflix from continuing the series. Why should it? After all, the series is called ‘Narcos’ not Escobar.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about the new Season, Eric Newman, Executive Producer of the series, said: “I think that there’s a lot of story left to be told in Colombia”.
Newman continued his justification for why the series continued without “Escobar” saying: “[This] show has always been about cocaine.
“We purposely did not call the show Pablo Escobar or Medellin… If somebody wants another Season of the show, we would sit down and draw from the pretty massive amount of real estate and research that we’ve done and do something kind of cool.”
Netflix already dropped a hint in the trailer that 2017 is the release date of the new Season.
The trailer shows Pablo Escobar fading in the background, as he’s replaced by a new drug lord.
