Midfielder, Chukwuka Onuwa scored a late winner as MFM FC overcame a hard-fighting Katsina United with a 3 – 2 win in a rescheduled NPFL game at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium, Lagos on Monday.

The game earlier scheduled to hold on Sunday was postponed to Monday morning due to the heavy downpour that left the pitch waterlogged.

The hosts blew a 2 – 0 first half lead as Katsina United leveled up in the second half before Onuwa grabbed a late winner.

League top scorer, Stephen Odey gave MFM the lead on the 15th minute when he raced past goalkeeper with a header before tapping into an empty net.

The lead was doubled in the 29th minute when skillful winger, Sikiru Olatubosun, fired in a shot from tight angle.

Captain, Destiny Ashadi pulled one back for the Chanji Boys in the 70th minute with a well-taken free kick before home-boy, Obinna Eleje leveled up in the 74th minute with a fierce shot off a free kick outside MFM FC’s area.

Chukwuma Onuwa scored 11 minutes from time to seal a win for the Olukoya Boys even as they had to endure nervy moments toward the end of the game.

The victory moves the Olukoya Boys to second on the NPFL log with 52 points, three points behind league leaders Plateau United.

MFM FC’s next game is a South West Derby against Remo Stars in Shagamu.
