Leading a delegation visit to the Media Trust Limited, Zainab Abdul-aziz Yari, CEO of Himma Community Health Circle Initiative, a non-governmental organisation called for partnership with them for the purposes of promoting the health of women and children in the northern part of Nigeria.

She said the organization’s objective was to address health issues such as maternal mortality, Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF), child spacing, malaria, tuberculosis and others, in addition to girl-child education, and agriculture.

She added that because traditional birth attendants were very important in tackling maternal mortality in the north, her NGO planned to empower 200 of them in Zamfara.

She said the organization had also signed a MOU with hospitals in Morocco and their personnel would soon come to Nigeria to train people and offer treatment on diabetes, cataract and glaucoma among others.
