The militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, have blown up a pipeline belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.

The group announced the attack on NNPC’s gas and crude trunk line close to Warri in Delta State, Nigeria on its Twitter feed, today.

This attack came shortly after the group served an attack on Chevron’s Escravos pipeline.

It’s been gathered from the spokesman for the Ijaw Youth Council, Mr. Eric Omare that another pipeline was attacked on Thursday night around the Batan Oil field in Warri.

Mr. Omaye, noted that there were two simultaneous attacks on the PPMC and NNPC pipelines. However, the NNPC is yet to confirm these incidents.

Many have blamed these recent attacks on the neglect of residents of the oil rich places by the Nigerian Government and international oil companies operating in the areas.

To this, the Minister of State for Petroleum Dr. Ibe Kachikwu urged Government to look into its amnesty programmes for militants.
