The airline industry has suffered a big hit with flights across the country being delayed or cancelled due to scarcity of aviation fuel.
Three weeks ago, domestic airlines cancelled all flights for a few days for lack of aviation fuel, known as Jet A1. Now, the fuel crises affecting the nation has hit so hard that airline operators like Arik Air, Aero Contractors, Med View and Air Peace have had to cancel their flights and halted tickets sales entirely.
Since airlines have had to ration the available fuel, many passengers are not accompanied by their luggage and priority is given to international flights over domestic ones.
