Bad section of the Benin-Auchi-Okene highway

Commuters on Nigeria’s highways need to apply extreme caution even as they gnash their teeth plying routes across the country.

Bad roads dotting the country’s landscape have contributed to loss of lives through accidents, though the Federal Road Safety Commission claims that more than 80 per cent of auto crashes in Nigeria are due to human error, over-speeding and use of worn-out tyres.

A typical example of some of the highways that have been rendered almost impassable is the Benin-Auchi-Okene, showed above.
