Nigeria and Arsenal’s 20 years old midfielder, Alex Iwobi, who played his debuted for Arsenal last season has expressed hope to improve on his performance in the new season.

Iwobi, cousin to Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ legend, Austin Okocha, showed a glimpse of what to expect in the new season in Sunday’s preseason clash with Manchester City where he scored a well-placed shot – one of Arsenal’s three goals in the 3 – 2 win.

Speaking on Arsenal’s official website after the Manchester City win, Iwobi said: “the challenge for me is to play as many games as I can, and to try to use the opportunities that I get.

“Hopefully, like today, I can try to get as many goals and assists as I can.”

Iwobi went on to talk about Arsenal’s preparations for the new season. He said: “we have done very well in our games. We just need to use that confidence throughout the season.”
