The Ogun State government is working at providing an online access to the first edition of the Nigerian Drum Festival coming up soon. It would allow lovers of drums and traditional festivals across the world monitor the event live from their respective locations.

As part of preparations for the festival that will hold in Abeokuta from April 19 to 22, the State government has disclosed that an online television website had been launched.

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Muyiwa Oladipo, gave the update in Abeokuta, the capital of the state on Monday while revealing the preparedness of the government towards a successful hosting of the event.

Mr. Oladipo said that the state would use the opportunity of the festival to present the tallest drum in Nigeria to the world. On the sustainability of the festival, the commissioner explained that the project was driven by government and private bodies, with the aim of promoting tradition and cultural heritage of Nigerians.
