Veteran Nigerian music producer, DJ and singer, Babatunde Okungbowa (also known as OJB Jezreel), has been pronounced dead.
He was pronounced dead on Tuesday at Isolo General Hospital in Lagos state, Nigeria, barely a month to his 50th birthday.
OJB who underwent a successful kidney transplant in India on October 21 2013 was recently rumoured to have suffered complications arising from his transplant surgery – little did fans know that the rumours were true.
Before his death, OJB was kept on dialysis for a week. He is survived by three wives and eight children.
OJB Jezreel will be remembered for influencing a generation of Nigerian musicians including Paul Play, Ruggedman, X-Appeal and Jazzman Olofin.
