Former Enyimba gaffer, Okey Emordi has resigned from his position as Abia Warriors head coach just after some months in charge of the Umuahia based club.

His resignation comes less than 24 hours after his side lost to visiting El -Kanemi in week 9 game of the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL.

In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the club, Chief Emeka Inyama stated that Emordi said he had to leave following a series of poor results.

The loss to El-Kanemi means Abia Warriors have lost four of their nine league matches this season and maintain just 11 points so far.

Abdullahi Biffo, who is Emordi’s assistant is to take over with immediate effect, as his first game in charge will be an away match against Akwa United this weekend.
