A group of Nigerians hired in Abuja to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari and the peace of the country has complained that the organisers, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, has refused to pay them after the outing.
The “Pray for Buhari” group grounded the vehicle of the NYCN Chairman, Emma George, accusing him of pocketing their money.
“Is that how to move Nigeria forward? Money meant for many people was taken by one person,” one of the hired prayer warrior quarrelled.
Another said: “We started the prayer at 9 O’clock and till now, we have not eaten anything. We can’t even go home because we all brought other people. We were promised N1,500 each but Emma George pocketed the money. So we had to seize his car from his driver.”
The group threatened to take the car with them as the rally was supported by the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari.
